In Dying-She Lives

by Jayne Bremyer

We watch her walk valiantly through this life's plane

And as the higher plateaus and canyon tops

Reach down, surround her, and suck her upward

- out of the flatter and grosser level of those with whom she lives

She stands tall and reaches high to catch the eternal grasp.

For she abides in a special peace inside the calm core of the tornado,

and the faster it swirls around her and the more wildly it sucks her upward

Out of his dark valley

The greater is her equilibrium

and her sense of direction and power of meditation--in its center.

For she trust completely

She never falters in fear or fails in faith.

Her interest and concern for other people

Is more her than her own sense of self - -

With eager curiosity she greets each new type of experience.

So it is that none of the chaff of this plane can be demanded of her

And none of the false garments of this life will be yanked from her

Because she herself leaves them behind

As she moves with willing eagerness and steady grace in the natural rhythm of the Over-all Plan

Reaching from height to height of advancement

She is in perfect time with the movement

Of the Eternal Force

She leads the way - -

And carries the torch that lights

The road ahead for those who watch

And love her - and hope to travel as well

In the path of living valiantly

And crossing barriers between the stages of life gracefully

And with her same unfailing, joyous eager faith.

And so she will always live

And BE.
